The category "other than transport and travel" includes all services not covered under transport or travel in the EBOPS-2010 classification. It comprises financial and insurance services, telecommunications and computer services, intellectual property charges, various other business services, and audiovisual, personal and recreational services, goods-related services, etc.

Q4 2025

World services exports increased by 9.1% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2025, after two quarters of equally strong growth. International travel sales increased by 9.4%, while exports of other services – most of which are digitally tradable – witnessed even 10.0% growth. By contrast, global transport services exports increased by only 3.5%. 

The quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted growth rate of services exports was estimated at 2.0% in the fourth quarter of 2025, following a 3.2% rise registered for the previous quarter.

Q4 2025

While transport exports decreased or stagnated in most world regions, those from European economies registered a 7.4% rise in the fourth quarter of 2025, year-on-year. Transport exports from Latin America and the Caribbean dropped by 4.2%. Those from Asia and Northern America remained almost unchanged compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.

Travel services exports of economies in Northern America decreased by 3.4% in the fourth quarter of 2025, while they increased strongly in other regions, featuring a 14.0% rise in Europe, a 10.7% rise in Asia, and an increase by 7.1% in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Services other than transport and travel – most of which are digitally tradable – continued thriving in all regions. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the highest exports growth for this group of services was registered in Europe (+10.9%), followed by Asia (+10.5%), Northern America (+8.5%) and Latin America and the Caribbean (+6.0%). This marks the continuation of a period of strong and steady growth in that segment of international trade. Since the beginning of 2023, world total exports of services other than transport and travel have not registered less than 7% year-on-year growth in any quarter.

The presented trade in services statistics follow the IMF Balance of Payments Manual 6 (BPM6, 2009) classification.

Quarterly estimates are based on the statistics available in national and international sources for some 150 economies, representing over 85% of total international services trade.  

"Services other than transport and travel" represents a heterogeneous group dominated by various business services, telecommunications and computer services, intellectual-property, insurance and financial services. They are further comprised of construction, personal, cultural and recreational services, and government goods and services (n.i.e.). For this presentation, manufacturing, processing and repair services are also included under other.
