Commodity price growth slows further in July 2026
Year-on-year change of the UNCTAD Commodity Price Index by commodity group, percentage
UN Trade and Development, UNCTADstat.
The index was modified in September 2025 to now only take data from sources accessible through automated online extraction routines, leading to (in general) small differences in the index values. For more information, see the related methodology note. The tables of individual commodity prices have been discontinued.
In July 2026, year-on-year growth of the UNCTAD Commodity Price Index slowed further, from 18.6% in June to 17.7%.
The deceleration was mainly driven by minerals, ores and metals, of which annual price growth declined from 29.6% to 24.0%, while fuel prices increased at almost the same pace as in the previous month (+16.7%).
Among agricultural commodities, food prices rose by 6.2%, after they had remained almost constant in June, and annual growth of prices of agricultural raw materials moderated from 13.2% to 10.1%.
